Hi! I've just received the program SetRamsey from Fish 423. It let's you examine & change the modes off the A3000 RAM controller chip Ramsey. I have equipped my A3000/25-40 with 32 44258 Chips (80ns, 256Kx4, SC), so I thought: "Fine, let's try the program....". The program says, that the Static Column & Burst mode of the Chip is turned OFF!!! Next thought: "OK, then turn it on manually with the program...." Said, done, and.... everything works, only the SCSI controller can't access the memory correctly anymore!!! You can't load anything from the HD, and after a reset the HD is not mounted. Does this mean, that I can't use the SC mode? Can somebody at Commodore verify this?
