My system is an A2000 with an A2091; 2 megs of 256x4's on the 2091. Until recently I thought if I ever wanted more RAM, I could just plug any RAM expansion board into my 2000 and the RAM I had would autoconfig with any RAM on that board. Some folks have hinted, though, that this might not work; I didn't totally understand what the problem might be, but they implied the RAM might not be continuous or something. So anyway, my question comes in two parts, as I do not quite know yet what I want to do (and what I do might well depend on the answers to these questions!): A) If I decide I do not want to accelerate my Ami, and just want to add 16-bit Fast RAM, what are my options? Can I indeed just plug it in and go, or are there really problems? If there are problems, what are they, and what can I use with my 2091's existing memory? B) Should I decide I want to accelerate my 2000, I already know I should get lotsa 32-bit memory on-board to go with it to take full advantage of the '030. Question is, will this memory work in conjunction with my 2091's memory, or do I have to lose the 16-bit RAM on it? Any answers appreciated, by mail or posted here - your choice. :-) Kurt -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- || Kurt Tappe (215) 363-9485 || With. Without.
