[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] SupraRAM questions.

blf@churchy.ai.mit.edu (Bill Frandsen) (02/07/91)

I have a question concerning adding more RAM to my SupraRAM board.

I have the 2/8meg board, (2 megs already socketed). The chips that are
installed have the following numbers on them:

P210010-10
925  Korea

I assume the -10 means 100ns. Am I correct? The documentation which
is _VERY_ sparse, states that I can use from 80ns to 120ns rams. If I
were to purchase more DRAMS (1meg x 1bit), which speed should I get?

Can I save money and get 120ns, since that is the board speed rating;
or do I have to get at least 100ns since that is what the two megs that
are already installed are?

In reference to the gentleman who is having problems with the board, all
I can say is that mine has worked fine since July of 90. In the FIRST
Amiga slot (closest to the CPU expansion slot on the 2000) I have installed
the Supra WordSync Hard card, then skipped a slot, then the 2/8meg Ram
board, then skipped a slot, then the A2088XT Bridgeboard, skipped a slot,
and the last XT slot has a EGA card installed. Seems to work fine.
