CEO document contents: A couple of weeks ago, I posted a message regarding my problems in getting a hard disk (on a Spirit Technology HDA-506 controller) to boot without error on an A1000 with an IN-1000 memory board populated to 1.5Mb (also made by Spirit). I've since discovered that if I set up the memory board NOT to autoconfig, the disk will boot without error and I can then ADDMEM the extra memory. Now I'm really baffled! According to the IN-1000 documentation, it will autoconfig the memory starting at $C00000 which is 'slow' memory as far as I can tell. The ADDMEM program adds the memory in at $800000 which is 'fast' memory. Does anyone out there know why this is happening? The system is an A1000 (European model, no daughter board). I've replaced the PALs as recommended and grounded all of them. I've also grounded pin 53(?) of the 68000. Kickstart 1.3 and AmigaDOS/ARP 1.3 Any assistance will be gratefully received.
