I am considering getting the JX300 scanner, anyone out there who has it? Questions: What would be a reasonable ammount of RAM to have to fully utilize the scanner? (6M, 10M, more) Can I scan in images on my Amiga and then transfer then to A-MaxII? I would imagine that a good product to purchase along with the scanner is TADPro, comments? -Rich -- // Rich | "have you ever noticed that opinion without knowledge is \X/ Andrews | always a shabby sort of thing?" - Socrates

(Rich Andrews) says: >What would be a reasonable ammount of RAM to have to fully utilize the >scanner? (6M, 10M, more) 5 would be the absolute minimum suggested. Some images can be 4 megs or more, so just get as much as you can afford, or think you will need. ie. If you will only be scanning 2"x3" images, 5 should suffice. If you plan to scan the largest images the JX-100 will do, get more. >Can I scan in images on my Amiga and then transfer then to A-MaxII? Yes. I would manipulate them on the Amiga first, and translate them to PICT for A-Max format as the last step. Amiga has better image manipulation utilities. See below: >I would imagine that a good product to purchase along with the scanner >is TADPro, comments? TADPro would be almost required equipment with the JX-100 I'd think. :-) >-Rich Kurt -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- || Kurt Tappe (215) 363-9485 || With.
