[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Sharp JX300

andrewsr@u2.rutgers.edu (Rich Andrews) (02/15/91)

I am considering getting the JX300 scanner, anyone out there who has
it?

Questions:

What would be a reasonable ammount of RAM to have to fully utilize the
scanner? (6M, 10M, more)

Can I scan in images on my Amiga and then transfer then to A-MaxII?

I would imagine that a good product to purchase along with the scanner
is TADPro, comments?

5 would be the absolute minimum suggested. Some images can be 4 megs
or more, so just get as much as you can afford, or think you will need.
ie. If you will only be scanning 2"x3" images, 5 should suffice. If you
plan to scan the largest images the JX-100 will do, get more.

Yes. I would manipulate them on the Amiga first, and translate them
to PICT for A-Max format as the last step. Amiga has better image
manipulation utilities. See below:

TADPro would be almost required equipment with the JX-100 I'd think.
