[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] AMAS sampler/midi interface: Opinions?

jellis@vicstoy.UUCP (Jacob Ellis) (02/14/91)

Well, I'm moving my MIDI setup over to my Amiga and I've heard about
this AMAS device (from Michtron?) that is supposedly a sound
sampler and a MIDI interface in one. Is it any good? What are it's
limitations? Those that have used or own one, what do you think of it?
I really haven't been able to find out much about it, but it does look
interesting...

If you know you want both a MIDI interface and a Sampler, AMAS is the one to
buy. I would definitely recommend it even if you just want a Sampler. It was
rated the best Amiga sampler in an AmigaWorld(?) article about a year ago.
Very clean. The software is OK. It has all the basics and some interesting
features like the ability to play the samples from a MIDI device. You can
use AudioMaster with it also.

I can not tell nothing specially about the Sampler of the AMAS. The
program is OK, but still the best sampler program is Audiomaster III.

Othervice those samplers, usually it goes thatway: What more you are
paying, the better sampler you have.
