I have been attempting to get an OMTI 3527A B.3 SCSI-2-ST-506 controller
to work with my A3000 (I was previously running with an A2090a controller,
but it has 'fastmem/notfasmem' confusion associated with it).
The drive is a Dodime 3055, which is a 869Cylender, 6Head, 17Sectors/Track
drive.
When I do a 'Query' on the controller, it gives me the above name, and for
Size it gives 303Cyl, 4Head, 25Sector/Track which is 14M in size.
I then set the size correctly for my drive, and do a Low-Level format. All
goes well. I then do a 'Verify Data' and it comes back as OK.
I then try to do an AmigaDos Format, and it is not able to read or write
beyond track 297 (Hmmm, which makes it a 14M drive....) - I tried setting
a partition to END at track 296, and I can read/write/copy/grind at that
partition all I want, and all works perfectly fine. I cannot do anything
with any track above 296, though.
Is anyone familiar with this controller? Would anyone know who I would
attempt to call/write to find out more information? This controller used to
be running in a CLtd drive, and was running with a 60M drive. It's owner
upgraded to a Quantum 100M, and ended up giving me this controller.
