Folks, I've been fooling around with some MIDI keyboards and Deluxe Music Construction Set for a few years now. I've been trying to use DMCS to eliminate the need for a multitrack recorder, so I've been playing 6 or 7 channels at once. I'm now experiencing some delay problems, so I'd like to get a multitrack recorder after all. However, to use one I need to put a sync tone on one track (usually FSK). I have heard of only one MIDI/Amiga interface (MPU-401) that will take this FKS tone and convert it into a clock to drive the sequencer playback on the Amiga. Does anyone know of any other module? How hard is it to build one of these circuits (I have hacked at hardware before...)? I'm using an ECE interface to my Amiga 1000 (running 68020 and 2M memory via LUCAS/FRANCE boards). Part II: since DMCS doesn't support external sync (although it will put out a clock to drive drum machines, etc.) and software that does support it costs $500, I am looking for alternatives. Are there any other sequencers (PD or otherwise) that will save me some work/time? I just got the midi library from the Fish disks. Thanks for any help! regards, Rob
