last night I replaced the stock power supply on my 500 with a small XT supply. The machine works fine with one exception. the audio is trashed somehow. It is all garbled, barely audible with a low humming noise all the time. I put the old supply back on and it works fine, so I didn't damage anything, although that's not much consolation. I suspect it has something to do with grounding, but I can't figure what. If you changed your supply Email me and tell me how you separated the two grounds on the 500 (shield and signal) the funny thing is my old supply only had 4 cables the pin for shield ground wasn't even connected to anything.?? If you have any helpfull ideas please drop me a line! I am an electronic tech by trade so feel free to be 'technical' {grin} // \X/ Adam B -- // | "Keyboard not responding \X/ an353@Cleveland.freenet.EDU| press ESC to continue" Yes, another AMIGA fanatic | ^PC logic in action ^^

Make sure your using shielding and that the cables don't run near each other (audio vs power, that is :-) ) IBM type P/S's usually run inside a shielded box, as far as I can remember. ========================================================================== Chris Cebelenski UUCP: portal.com!gdc!aminet!czaeap!cpc The Red Mage : cpc@czaeap.UUCP // "Amiga - The way REAL people compute" \X/ Sex, and Drugs, and Rock and Roll-Playing!
