I'm currently running a Sidecar 1060 together with my Amiga 1000. I am using an old version of the Janus library and like to upgrade it to a later one. I called Commodore and so I received a new 'PC Install' disk. Now I want to reformat my hard disk (jh0:), because the new Janus software doesn't seem to like my hard disk format. (I catch up with 'Not a dos disk in unit 0' when I run DJMount.) Also I'd like to use the FFS. Here's where the problem comes. I can't format the hard disk, no matter what I try. All I do after booting is to run Binddrivers and thereafter DJMount. After this, the format command exits with 'Format failed - not enough memory'. I have no other tasks running and 512K of ram, so I suppose I should be able to run a format program without problems. I have a PC Bios 2.06 and a Kickstart 1.2 (33.180). I was told by commodore that this was ok, but something is WRONG:-(. I suppose I don't have a hardware problem since the hard disk runs just f fine under the older version of Janus. Another question: Should I be able to run my 1010 3.5" disk drive directly from the sidecar (the instruction booklet says so.)? I can't. I don't receive a read/write error, but everything on the disk is rubbish. Do I have a comfiguration problem? I'm very thankful for all responses. I'll try everything!
