[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Over the AutoConfig

allen@grebyn.com (Allen Farrington) (03/03/91)

I am posting for a friend so please follow-up to me via E-Mail at:

   allen@grebyn.com

Here is his setup:

Amiga 2000 with GVP 3001 with 8MB installed.
MegaChip 2000 (SuperFat Agnus with 2MB Chip RAM)
CBM 2052 2MB RAM Expansion with 2MB installed.

The machine will boot with 10MB of RAM (2MB Chip, 8MB Fast) without
the 2052 in the box. With the 2052 in the box it won't boot at all.

We assumed that the 2052 would be ignored once the AutoConfig(tm)
limit was reached. This does not seem to be the case. Could someone
please relate to me an explanation of what is going on here?

BTW, his reason for wanting to leave the 2052 in the box is to have
some FAST RAM if the GVP3001 is deactivated at boot. (normal 2000 mode)
