I got the April _AmigaWorld_ today, and page 25 features a full-page ad for a TBC on a card (looks like a PC card). It's a nice-looking ad with the following copy: > The DPS Personal TBC(TM). Only $995. > > Plug into your toaster for a lot less bread. > > Why spend $3,000 to $8,000 for Infinite Window TBC hardware when the > new DPS Personal TBC (TM) card links a Video Toaster(R) directly to > any VCR for only $995? > > That's right, $995. > > And since a TBC is essential to connect your VCR or Camcorder [sic] > to your Video Toaster, we've made it as easy as it is affordable. > Just plug it into your Commodore Amiga(R) or PC(R) compatible computer > for broadcast quality time base correction. With both NTSC composite > and Y/C (S-VHS or Hi 8(R)) video inputs, Genlock and Infinite Window > timing correction. > > There's nothing else to buy. > > And no reason to buy anything else. This sounds like what I've wanted to buy, and it is listed by all the main mail-order places. ComputAbility seems to win the price battle at $779. So, does anyone know anything about the company that manufactures this or about this product? Thanks for any info, - Andrew Greene [ PS - sorry about posting the whole ad, I just thought I'd share all the information I have about it, in case something in there rings a bell in someone else's brain.] [ I'll disclaim this one: I know nothing about this product, which I hope is clear, and I am not expressing any opinions at all in this posting. Well, maybe a little awe at the ad copy, and a disagreement about whether "Camcorder" should be capitalized. :-) ]
