I'm posting this for a friend who can't post news himself. When I want to connect both the mouse and a trackball, or the mouse and an analog joystick, neither the mouse nor the tackball/analog joystick operate: the mouse pointer doesn't move, I get no input from the other device. If I disconnect the mouse, my trackball works fine (at least, thought so...). There are no problems with digital joysticks or the trackball on other Amigas. So, if the controller needs power, things go wrong. I once blew up one of my CIA's: I connected my father's mega-A3-lotsanoise matrix printer to my Amiga; at startup, the diskdrive went berserk. The cable manufacturer probably thought that NC meant the same as GND, but I'm not sure of it. Anyway, I replaced the CIA with another and I've never had any problem anymore... except for this. Now, I'd like to know 1) Does it have something to do with the CIA's ? 2) Or with another custom chip (eeks ! no !) 3) How can I solve it ?
