[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Cheaper VGA

I bought my A2000 in May of 1989 loaded with a Microway FlickerFixer.
I always wanted to get a VGA monitor, but the cost was prohibitive. This
last weekend I finally bought one. It is a Packard Bell 8531V (color), .31mm
pitch, 14", and cost me $319.

The only caveat was that it had an IBM PS/2 type video connector
(15 pin D-Subminurature male) and I needed an IBM PC type 9 pin. So I hunted
for an adapter that would convert the IBM PS/2 connector to an IBN PC type.
No luck. I tried Radio Shack, EggHead Software, Computerland of Pasadena,
and Dow Radio (our local everything else electronic outlet). So I decided
to do it myself. Below is the wiring table. If you can get a hold of an
adapter - great! Otherwise - good luck.

	PB 8531V color Flicker-fixer Name
	   1 red* 1 red video
	   2 green* 2 green video
	   3 blue* 3 blue video
	   10 black 6,7,8,9 digital ground
	   13 yellow 4 Horizontal sync
	   14 orange 5 Vertical sync
