Hi, I'm hoping that I can get some advice about fixing my Amiga 1000. When I turn it on, the only thing that happens is the screen flashes bright green and it keeps trying to come up with the kickstart prompt but fails. I've learned that the green screen signifies a static ram problem. I called Commodore and they directed me to stores that will not service A1000's. The guy at Commodore's customer support said he thought a service center would replace the whole mother board (easier than a repair). We've opened the computer up andit looks tricky to fix, but I'm willing and able to try most anything to fix it especially if it just a few chips that need to be replaced. Has anyone done this that can give me detailed instructions? I'm no whiz with a soldering iron, but I have used one. I just can't see paying 300+ bucks for a few ram chips. Thanks, BJ bj%hotmomma@uunet.uu.net | hotmomma!bj@uunet.uu.net | uunet!hotmomma!bj
