After calling ICD tech support today, I did gather a bit of information concerning the previous questions I raised about their AdSpeed accelerator. It is supposedly compatible with every board made for the Amiga, with the sole exception of the bridgeboards. It will operate with them, but you must re-boot the system at 7 MHz. It will not work by switching to 7 MHz after alreading booting at 14 MHz. It will work with any other board made. The good thing is that you don't have to remove it to use the BB, just reboot. Also the real-time speed increase if you have ANY true fast ram, is in the range of 75% to 95%, thus doubling the speed of most programs. This is not just a benchmark test, it is a real-life increase. This is also stated by the latest review in AmigaWorld (April 1991), which stated a 65%-95% increase in speed, and claiming it runs as fast as any 68020 board that does not have any RAM memory of its own. The ICD is a board just slightly smaller than the 68000 chip, and includes a 16 MHz 68000, and a 32K cache, wich is why it is faster than any other 68000 accelerator. It lists at around $300 I believe. It does not supply a 68881, and provides no means to install one. Hope this helps those people that mailed me about any response I got. I do not have this accelerator, and am considering opting for a GVP instead, if it is compatible with the Bridgeboard.
