[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Help with maimed audio/clock

wille@frith.msu.edu (03/22/91)

Hello fellow netters,

My brother did a bad thing to his A500 and needs help. You see, he
made this sound digitizer for it, (with spiffy software to go with
it) for his senior project. After demonstrating it at school and
wowing everyone with how cool the Amiga is, he reports the following:

"Unfortunately, when I took my Amiga back home, the audio
didn't work anymore. You can hear it if you turn the volume all the
way up and listen really hard. I'm going to check out my power supply
and hope its the -12V output. I know its not the +12V output, because
my floppy drive still works. I hope that's all it is. The service people
said it would take 3 weeks to repair and cost about $75.00. I need my
Amiga in about a week and a half to do another audio demo. Anyway, it
is really sad :-(. And just after I got some excellent audio stuff
together. I lost my audo channels (well, they're attenuated about 40db)
as well as my clock chip. Happened at the same time."

So there it is. If anyone has any helpful information, please let me
know. You'll be doing a wonderful thing for the future of Amigas at
Brigham Young University. Thanks.
