Hello, Can anybody help me ? I have a mouse systems optical mouse (model M4), Thanks to Ed Hanway I now have this working on my Serial port of my A500 but does anybody know of a hack to enable it to work in the Mouse/Joystick port. I have a hack to convert a Mouse Systems Model 2/3 optical mouse to work but I think by looking at the conversion instructions and the inside of the mouse that the M4 is totally different to the M3/M2. Thanks in advance. Darren Carpenter.

Can't be done. At least short of building it from scratch. Last weekend I persuaded a friend to let me dismember his Boing! mouse in hopes that I could easily duplicate that circuit for my M4 serial mouse. Unfortunatly they use completly different PC boards, and different chips (both labeled only with a Mouse Systems part number, and apparently fabricated by VLSI inc.). It looks like the only way to get a Mouse Systems M4 to work on the Amiga's mouse port is to buy the Boing! mouse or buy the bus version and hack the cable. -- Blaine Gardner @ Evans & Sutherland 580 Arapeen Drive, SLC, Utah 84108 blgardne@javelin.sim.es.com or ...dsd.es.com!javelin!blgardne DoD #0046 My other motorcycle is a Quadracer.
