[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] How is the A3000UX 1.44 meg floppy done?

Harvey_Taylor@mindlink.UUCP (Harvey Taylor) (03/22/91)

Does anybody know how the 1.44 floppy is implemented in the A3000UX?
Is this a regular IBMish 1.44 floppy or are they mucking with the
rotational speed? If it's a regular drive, there must of course be
a doubled clock somewhere in the ECS Gary.
    What's the scoop?

It's the rotational speed thing (Dave could tell more): The drive is
a special one which goes half speed in HD mode.
