[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Need more info on a NEW AT Bridgeboard

guy@ns.network.com (Guy D'Andrea) (03/21/91)

I understand about the Cmos ram but believe me, there is no connector for any
battery pack. I read the Manual and looked for the connector and it looks like
the board was not layed out with that option. I did not remove the daughter
board to see if they had moved it somewhere else but I looked very carefully
every where else and that connector number isn't even printed on the board!
I'd be more worried except I noticed that SETUP is the same after a long power
down... So somehow it IS being saved with out a battery to keep power on that
Cmos ram chip? Weird. I am wondering if Commodore redesigned and re-layed out
the board but didn't change the Manual... Hmmmmmm...

Well, yes there seems to have been a redesign in the AT board in that they
replaced the external battery pack by something ("black brick"?) sitting
directly on the board. You may gather from my phrasing that I never saw
such a beast until now...

Newer AT Bridgeboards have a battery for the clock mounted on the
AT daughterboard, instead of having a connector for a battery pack.
