Rich, I tried to send this directly to you twice but it didn't go. I'm posting
it in comp.sys.amiga.hardware. Sorry about the bandwidth, guys.

Rich, this is in response to your posting to usenet on my question about the
Amazing 512K ram hack.

That's exactly the same thing that I heard about RAD: and the regular addmem
program that one uses on the WB disk.

Yes for both #1, 2. I don't know beans about compiling so the source wouldn't
help me on #3. There was a program out called AMF= Add Memory Forever. But it
didn't seem to work with my configuration.

I don't remember if on my post I mentioned the problem I had with the date
command and the patches. Somehow the patch interfered with the system clock
settings (I don't have a battery backed clock) so that when it read the WB disk
it wasn't able to establish a system time. Instead it came back with a date
of: <unset><unset><unset>. I just read something on comp.sys.amiga about that
but I can't remember it now. No, I think it was in AW, now that I think about
it.

BTW - with all the patches to KS that are around, isn't it feasibly possible to
modify the disk TOO much? Also, I'm considering the KSEliminator board to add
another 128K to memory. By using the 1.3ROM do I keep myself from being able
to use these patches?

P.S. I'm not too proficient at uudecode yet. Can we arrange a disk swap?

In my opinion a much better route is to add Dave Haynies mod to allow
the extra ram to auto configure. Why mess with patching kickstart
when the OS already handles the task for you.

If you need more information I will still send out a package of both
the 512K piggy back hack and Dave's mod to allow it to auto configure.
Simply send me a Stamped self addressed envelope (with postage for
	about 10 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 paper) (9 x 12 envelope works best)
	to:
		Monty L. saine
		4551 Piute Pl.
		San Diego, CA. 92117

Include a blank formatted disk and I'll give IFF and text copies of
the ones I have "electronified" to date.

The only thing in over two years that I have had problems with was
AMAX. It simply didn't like the ram... so far.
