[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Flickering problems

po87553@korppi.tut.fi (Pasi 'Albert' Ojala) (04/06/91)

I've a problem with connecting Microway's flickerFixer to A2000 (model A).
I connected all the required color signals to the second connector of
the flickerFixer and colors are just fine but there's something really
strange in synchronozing picture. Every even frames are just fine
(let's suppose that the fine behaving frame is even). But as soon as
an odd frame appears to the screen some odd things starts to happen:
Every second odd frame is like it should be (like this:)

line 1
 line 2
line 3
 line 4
line 5
 line 6

...and so on. But every second odd frame will appear to the screen in the
form of:

 line 2
line 1
 line 4
line 3
 line 6
line 5

...and so on. This is really odd! I think the problem is in my Agnus,
which is very old. Model # is 8361. Another possibility is Denise. I
checked all the pins one by one from the schematic sheets and I found
some pins which were not connected like in B2000. But as far as I can see
the problem is with vsync. Agnus generates that signal. Does anyone
know how flickerfixer makes difference between even and odd frames?
There gotta be another signal for that. Unfortunately I couldn't find
it. Oh, and don't bother sending me mail like: "I know your problem -
you have got an A2000 model A". But if you really have something in mind
which would help me, please let me know!!! (Commodore Technical SuPport
Couldn't reply my questIons *FOR SOME REASON* .. )

Btw, am I even or odd? :)
