A have a revision 6A A-500 at home, with the fatter agnus (8372). I use a composite mono monitor out of the port to the right (looking from the back...) of the RGB port. This is at 50Hz (ie, PAL, which is what we use down under :-) Anyway, some programs incorrectly think that I am using an NTSC machine and cause the screen to be output at 60Hz. (This also happens with a television out of the A510). The result: a horrible image which looks as if the picture has 5-10 different vertical starting positions (due to the 60Hz scan on a 50Hz monitor). What I want to know is this: can I force programs to run in PAL mode? (I think the problem is caused by the setting of a bit in Agnus, but I'm not so sure on this one). I *know* it is trying to display NTSC because I ran a program which forced the computer to output in this mode, and it had the same result as these programs have. A mess. So, any quick fixes, or do I have to put-up with it (or in the case of some PD software, E-Mail for a fix.) -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | Luke Mewburn (Zak) | This side for rent... | | s902113@minyos.xx.rmit.oz.au | |
