[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Floppy Drive Problems

I was wondering if anybody would have some insight into a problem I'm
having with my two internal floppy drives. They hang intermittently
when I try to access them (~ 50% of the time).

I recently installed a GVP 68030 (25 MHz) accelerator card with 4 Mb
of extended RAM. This problem manifested itself after the card was
installed. I have double checked that my ribbon cable from the floppy
drives to the motherboard is properly seated. It didn't help much.

Is is possible that the GARY chip is going bad? Has anybody else
seen this symptom?

On a side note, is it possible to hang my floppy drives off a SCSI
card? I think that my problem may be a bad connector on the mother-
board and I could get around this if a SCSI controller would allow
this.

Any help and/or insight will be highly appreciated!
