Hi. I own an AMIGA 500 and am looking for some help to possibly kluge a monitor connection. My monitor recently started flaking out. It's an old monochrome composite job and has picked up a pretty severe horizontal "squish" which moves up the screen and gets bigger when any other appliances are running (even a light). I've been looking around for a cheap solution and have found a source for digital monochrome monitors which are new for around $40. The problem is that they have these 9 pin connectors. I'm wondering if there is a way for me to make a converter from the nine pin cable to the AMIGA 23 pin rgb connector. I realize that this seems strange, but I need my money for other things right now and these are really inexpensive for new monitors. I couldn't find a source for new monochrome, composite input (i.e. RCA plug) monitors. The person at the half-price computer store said that these monitors were for IBM compatible systems and used a standard 9 pin digital monitor interface. If I can get the pin information for the monitor, is it possible to rig a kluge? (i.e. is there a signal from the AMIGA's RGB interface that will give me the equivalent of the composite signal for the purposes of driving one of these monitors?) If what I'm suggesting is possible, then I'll buy one of these cheap monitors. I'm used to the monochrome and can't afford the $350 for an AMIGA color monitor anyway. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks. Sorry if this isn't grammatical, but it's getting harder and harder to read. -wally
