Hiya all in Netland.... I have been fortunate in picking up a SONY CDU-5002-B CD-ROM reader, and want to know how to interface it to the Amiga 2500. Power is not a problem, there is a lead going from the power supply which has the right conector and voltage. At first I thought I was ging to have no trouble with the interface - it looks like a SCSI inteernal 50 pin, but it is in fact 40 pin. I have a Commodore 2091 controller, will this unit just plug in or do I need some other type of controller? Another problem is the mountlist entry...can anyone suggest anything suitable? As you can see I have NO idea....any help will be much appreciated. Adam Eberbach No, I don't have a sigblock....... ------------ -> Perls of Wisdom from grue@guru.pub.uu.oz.au (Grue) -> User Level: 1 (Llama) -> The Guru Meditation BBS - (03) 375 3438 (all speeds to 9600)

My Suggestion: Good Luck. We have an external variant of that Sony drive for a PC at the store. It has that same micro-40-pin connector. It connects to a dedicated controller card in the PC. According to the skimpy manual that was included, that model is NOT SCSI. It is the "Sony Bus." Whatever that is. It seems very similar to SCSI, as it uses SCSI-like addressing, and a few other SCSIish concepts, but as far as adapting it to SCSI, you have my best wishes. You'll need it. ;) Chris - Xenon -- #define chris Christopher_Eric_Hanson || Lord_Xenon || Kelson_Haldane I work, but you don't know who I work for. And I'm not on their machines.
