Does anyone produce a SCSI II hard drive for the Amiga? The only computer I've heard of with one is the NeXT... Thanx in advance! Matt Staroscik 6600star@ucsbuxa.ucsb.edu

I'm using a SCSI-II Seagate ST1480N right now. Works good, quite expensive (4400rpm, 3.5", 420MB). SCSI-II isn't really much different. Now, as for "fast" mode SCSI-II, the drive supports it but no amiga controller does yet. Then again, for most people "fast" does very little, since regular SCSI is faster than the throughput from the drive (my best is 1.7MB/s through the FS - while getting 900K/s on another drive at the same time). Regular SCSI-I and SCSI-II non-"fast" goes up to 4 (maybe 5, pushing, with short cables) MB/s. -- Randell Jesup, Keeper of AmigaDos, Commodore Engineering. {uunet|rutgers}!cbmvax!jesup, jesup@cbmvax.commodore.com BIX: rjesup Disclaimer: Nothing I say is anything other than my personal opinion.
