[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Replacement mouse switches

taylor@swbatl.sbc.com (George Taylor - Southwestern Bell - Dallas, Tx.) (05/01/91)

For those who are interested in replacing the internal switches
inside the Amiga mouse that can go out after heavy use: I have
finally determined the correct part number amd manufacturer.

The Manufacturer is OMRON ELECTRONICS, INC. who are located in
Schaumberg, Illinois. There are two different part numbers that
can be used as a replacement: B3F-4000 or B3F-5000 with the only
difference being that the B3F-5000 is cited as their "High
Reliability" switch. The B3F-4000 is the direct replacement for
the switch in the Amiga mouse. The unit price on my order of 100
was .26 each for the B3F-5000 with the price of the B3F-4000 being
a couple cents cheaper. I ordered from a local electronics
supplier who got my order from the manufacturer in approximately
8-10 days. I got the name of the local distributor from OMRON's
toll-free number (1-800-626-6766 or 1-800-62-OMRON). My supply is
not for sale due to the fact that I ordered them for our local user
groups, friends, and myself. Email me if there are any questions.
