I have a 500 with a 1084 monitor. The monitor has started to cut out (screen dimms but it is still getting power, monitor power light is on). Striking the top of the monitor brings it back. I opened the monitor, found one loose connector but the problem persisted. It has gotten bad enough that I took the monitor in, if my dealer can't fix it said they send it to Commodore, and Commodore sends a new? monitor back (for $120). Comments? Advice? Second, can you connect a VGA monitor to a 500? My dealer said no. What is a good monitor for a 500 besides the 1084? I just got a GVP hard disk, so ofcourse this had to happen *NOW* ARGH!
