I have just added an external 52 meg quantum (identical to the one inside) to my A3000. When I switch the 3000 on, the light on the new hard drive comes on and stays on, and the computer goes no where. If I wait 10 - 15 seconds, reset (c-a-a), it boots perfectly. I have the terminating resistors in properly, the hard drive is set up as unit 0, so what is wrong? The hdtools program says this quantum is v2.8, whereas the internal quantum is v2.3. I have tried swapping the new quantum for the old one, but the same thing happens. Is this a problem with the scsi interface not being able to handle 2 drives? Or is it a problem with the new quantum hard drive? Jon -- | Jonathan Potter | | I'd really like to | | P.O.
