I just acquired, and managed to stuff into my Amiga 2000, a CSA "724" model 68020/881 "Adaptor" board (vintage 1983!). I have a couple of questions about this board, and cpu boards in general, if anyone knows/cares to reply. 1. After installing this board, testing it with various programs and noticing some apparant increace in speed, I wonder, is there a utility which can determine the clock speed at which the CPU is currently running? 2. Running SetCPU with no arguments returns your CPU configuration. When I do this, SetCPU tells me I have a 68020/68881, but also tells me that it detects a "FPU logic error". What would cause this? I realize that putting a CPU board made in 1983 into a computer not produced (even the 1000 model) until 1985 is taking somewhat of a chance, but the results so far have been ok. Most stuff runs, and I can detect some increace in speed for at least a couple of programs. I would really like to know if this thing is running at some faster clock speed than a stock amiga, though (the '020 is rated at 12MHz, the '881 at 16MHz). Any information duly appreciated! Later...
