Hi, I am considering buying a Xetec Fast Trak (SCSI) with Fast RAM card from a fellow here at school. He will be leaving tomorrow, so I need some quick help. The controller seems to work well with my friends computer, but when attached to my A1000 it gets just so far in the startup sequence before various software errors occur. The Guru's that I am getting are #810000005.43616E63 #000000004.00000328 #000000004.00202C38 I am using his HD, so that isn't a variable. My A1000 differs from his in that I have an 1 meg Insider card installed. Could that be the problem? Am I drawing too much from my power supply? The Xetec has 1 meg installed as 4 SIMMs. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it very much. The card seems to be what I'm looking for (i.e. RAM and a reasonably fast SCSI controller) and the used asking price seems very reasonable. However, if it won't work, or if I have to give up my Insider, then it might not be worth it. Please drop responses by e-mail since I need to hear from you as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!
