Okay all you Amiga Hardware Gurus... I have an Archive Corporation 60MB Streamer drive. It has a QIC-02 interface, and I was wondering if there was any way to use it with my A2000. I have a MicroBotics HardFrame SCSI Controller (with a Quantum 105M Hard Drive attached). I tried calling adaptec, on advice from other gurus, but got no help from them (they don't make a SCSI <-> QIC-02 adapter). They mentioned a Wang Tech (?) controller that would work; but, only in the AT slots, and I don't want to buy a bridgeboard just to make this Streamer work...;-) Does anybody make SCSI <-> QIC-02 adapters? Does there exist a reasonable hack? Can this be done or is this a pipe dream of mine? If anybody has any ideas, I'd appreciate hearing from you. If there is an adequate response (yay or nay), I'll post any/all solutions or failures. (Of course, engaging in a heated debate would be more fun.) A primo solution would be something "<" $60.00... Thanks in advance... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |\/\/\/| | | | | | | Jeffrey A. Pietro | | | | | Bull HN, Inc. | | | (o)(o) | P.O. Try the OMTI 7400 series or the older OMTI 5400 series cards. They both had QIC-02 interfaces on their high end versions. Note that these aren't cheap, and tough to find surplus. > Does there exist a reasonable hack? > Can this be done or is this a pipe dream of mine? It a pipe dream. You'll find it actually cheaper to sell your drive to some poor sole with a PC clone and buy a SCSI drive instead. :-( Your 2060E is salable and worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $250, a used 2060S is worth about the same. One of the newer 2150S drives should probably cost less than twice that. > Thanks in advance... > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > | |\/\/\/| | | > | | | | Jeffrey A.
