Yet another question about hard drives for the A500. I already own an A590 (standard drive + 2 Meg memory) and I want to add a SCSI drive. I can purchase the drive no problems, but I am wary about what power supply to use. Is the original A590 supply powerful enough to drive 2 hard disks (does anyone have the spec. cos that would be most useful !) ? Has anyone added a second drive ? If so, what supply did they use if it was not the A590 supply ? I would be most grateful if anyone could help me on any the above points, and my A590 is filling fast. BTW I am thinking of adding a 60 Meg Seagate drive which I can purchase for about 240 pounds - is there anyone out there who might have a cheaper one ? Thanx in advance. What you need is a stand-alone case with PS for the scsi drive, unless you wish to remove the internal IDE drive. These should be generally available from most computer-parts-type places (in the US, Computer Shopper has a zillion ads for stuff like this). You'll also need an external scsi cable (should be carried by Mac places). It'll be a D25 to centronics 50-pin connector - you should try to make sure the external box you get is set up for a Mac (i.e. scsi), so it has the right sort of connector. -- Randell Jesup, Jack-of-quite-a-few-trades, Commodore Engineering. {uunet|rutgers}!cbmvax!jesup, jesup@cbmvax.cbm.commodore.com BIX: rjesup Disclaimer: Nothing I say is anything other than my personal opinion.
