Well this is the third and last attempt I'm giving for help with my problem... If you have any idea at all what might be wrong with this here thing I'd appreciate hearing from you! Previous Post: I was trying to get the "internal-serial" port (The jumpers next to the serial port) to work, and either I accidently shorted a couple pins there or I may have inadvertently plugged the HardDisk power led into the power jumper on my GVP series II with 4Megs of RAM. Now if my GVP hardcard is in any other slot besides the one nearest the power supply my computer locks up on a binddrivers (I've got 1.2 ROMS so I'm not auto-booting.). What happens is after the binddrivers command is issued the HardDisk light goes on and the computer locks up with the HD light still lit. If the card is in the slot next to the PS I can successfully binddrivers the disk, but it will freeze like the above in a short while, during a HD access. The problem seems to occur more frequently after the machine has been running a while. My memory on the GVP (4 megs) works perfectly with no problems, and my A2088 XT BB will work in it's slot, but my HD is pretty close to unusable. What I'm wondering is does this sound like a problem with my motherboard (blown chip? Do the symptoms indicate a certain one?) or with my HardCard? I've replaced the 8520 with working ones, so that isn't the problem. Any opinions, or helpful answer would be greatly appreciated!
