[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] help making a 500 internal drive an external drive

I have a disk drive that was taken from the inside of an Amiga 500 and was 
wondering how to make it an external drive.  Has anybody out there has already 
done this?
  What I need to know is the difference in pin outs, and if any additional 
hardware is needed.  I looked at the pinouts for the drives in the back of
the amiga manual and there are some subtle differences, can anybody elaborate?  
  What types of external power supply will I need and how will the extra drive
be recognized by the amiga.  Right now I do have an external drive but it has 
no daisy chain port on it, only an external power supply port (why is this?).
  What books would be good to look at for doing something like this?
(As you can tell, I have not researched this much but I do plan to, so any help
anybody can give will be greatly appreciated.)
