[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] 3rd party SCSI cntrllr in A3000

Viet.Ho@bbs.acs.unc.edu (Viet Ho) (05/28/91)

When I first got my A3000, I plugged in my ICD Advantage A2000
SCSI controller into the A3000 so as to set up an HD for a friend.
Wow, I got a whopping 1MB/s read and 900+ K/s write with DiskPerfa2
on the standard Quantum 50s it came with. That is sure dang fast
compared to 600/500 K/s r/w with the A3000's standard controller
.
Sounded like popcorn everytime I accessed the HD on the ICD.

Funny I could never get that kind of speed even with a
GVP3001 in the A2000.
