I just installed my 4 megs of 80ns, static column ZIPS and am having trouble turning it off! Some programs I have (geared too older Amigas, games of course) don't like fast memory and I have a "nofast" utility which would reboot the machine, having no fast memory available. I originally thought that the Ramsey chip didn't like the program trying to reconfigure the static chips (since it used to work fine with the 1 meg of DIPS as fast mem) but when I tried to use another program, "palcon" which is supposed to reboot the machine into PAL mode, I became suspect. I'm pretty sure that the Ramsey will now not allow programs to exist in the Cold Capture vector area of memory since I believe both these programs use these areas. Since I'm not a developer, I don't have access to information concerning this area of mem. on the A3000. Could someone please either leave me mail on a program that will let me boot into nofastmem or show me code on how I can do it? Please don't use any of the info in the 1.3 RKM's since I've already tried that and the relevant section in "Amiga System Programmer's Guide" by Abacus.
