[comp.sys.amiga.hardware] Amiga support of HD floppies ?

Can anyone tell me when/if the Amiga (500/1000/2000/3000) will/can support high density (e.g. 1.44MB and above) 3.5-inch floppy disk drives ?

Preferably as internal (DF0-type) units, but also as external drives ?
