Having read some of the reply to keith in NZ (regarding possible incompatability between gvp series II + 2630) i am wondering if there are any hassles with rev 6.2 of the 2000 motherboard (i think mine is a B2000 designed in germany). On an associated point who's fault is it that they 'are' incompatiable on some 2000's...surely it isn't a case of both C= and GVP locking buyers into their hardware alone, something like having to buy a gvp accelerator if you have a gvp HC and the converse for C= regarding a2091/a2630. Thirdly is there any substance to the "german magazine rumour" that wb2.0 doesn't work on the 2630 due to its roms residing in the address space as wb2.0's location. I would be very surprised if C= hadn't tested wb2.0 with the 2630. jeff. +---------------------------------++----------------------------------------+ | Jeff Coleman || billy@mana.pub.uu.oz.au | | #include <quote.h> || ..!uunet!munnari.oz!eyrie!mana!billy | +---------------------------------++----------------------------------------+

A dealer in Deleware that has sold hardware to many sysops of C-Net Amiga BBS has stated that the 2620's and 2630's will need new ROMS to run under Kickstart 2.0...I have seen him state this many times, and I don't remember if he said they are avaiable now or not...I assume they must be, because there are developers out there that I imagine are using 2630's with 2.0... Wasn't there a post on the comp.unix.amiga something about Amiga Unix 2.0 comming out in the fall, after they get the 2630's to boot the same as the Amiga 3000's? Sounds like new autoconfig ROMS somewhere to me.... -- C-UseNet V0.42e Ronald Kushner Life in Hell BBS +1 (313) 939-6666 P.O. Well, I've got a pretty old 2630, and have never replaced the ROMs in it. I have no problems running the developers releases of 2.0, and I can forsee no difficulties running the ROMed version when it's available. Your dealer is confused here. You will have to replace the ROM on the 2000 itself, just like we had to when we switched from 1.2 to 1.3... > Ronald Kushner Life in Hell BBS +1 (313) 939-6666 > P.O.
