Using DiskDoctor last night, I was informed that the disk I was resurrecting had: Hard Error Track 40 Surface 0. Could someone please explain what this means? P.S. Is there a better utility than DiskDoctor to use for this sort of thing? Thanks, Alister Miller.

INFINITELY better; it's called DiskSalv, is by Our Own Dave Haynie, and is available on Fish and by FTP.
