Just A summary of an advertisement which I have seen locally, This looks like being a fairly good accelerator. The advert went as follows : The REAL 68000 accelerator. Features: Fully compatible 14MHz operation, for internal access in A500/200 1/2 MByte of **** 0 WAIT state **** Memory expandable to 2 MB Maximum speed access to kickstart ROM. Plugs in 68000 socket Separate module available w/out RAM (~10% speed improvement) HARDWARE switch to revert to normal 7M operation AT ANY TIME & back again Future additions : separate PIC for A2000 for memory if required (upgrading from memoryless system, 0 wait) Separate plug in RAM module for A500 expansion connector (0 wait) Proposed costs : straight 68000 : (no RAM) AUS$100 68000 + 1/2 MByte RAM (0 wait) : AUS$450 PRODUCTION VOLUMES AVAILABLE 4-6 WEEKS!! ( can we believe this ?) ...... So I went over to the address and asked to have a look. They still only had a proto-type but it looked pretty good. The speed improvement was quite noticeable, especially switching between two speeds. A fair bit more complex than I expected, having tried the 14M Hack myself (and verified that it is rubbish). This seems like a much better deal than AdSpeed, as AdSpeed is AUS$405 here, and only has a 16k cache. Also they said that it should work completely with any 3rd party memory/harddrive expansions. I know the AdSpeed has problems with some expansions available. Anyway, I just thought I'd post this up to see what others think. It looks pretty good to me. Ian O Nobody really gives a flying squirt what my opinions are anyway.
