I have just got a modem and Due to lack of desk space, It would be nice to sit my external floppy on it. Will this cause interference?

Will this cause interference? It would depend on the modem and the disk drive but I would guess in most cases the answer is 'no problem'. I have a USR Robotics HST at home and sit my A1020 (5.25") drive on top of it... no problems.
