Howdy Folks,
I'm new on this list so I don't know what projects are going on. An other reason
is the lack of FTP on the VAX out here.
Anyway, at the moment I'm staying in Cairo for half a year. Out here you can
find many shops that still sell tubes. At home I started on a two-tube pre-amp
but it's amplification is quite low & I couldn't get rid of the loud hum it made
So I'd like to know about any other tube pre-amp projects.
When I get back home I'll start on a pair of planar speakers (Apogee like)
, the design was published in a Danish magazine called "High Fidelity".
I've got an 20w class A power amp at home, Hiraga (0.6 F ! power supply)
, might not be able to pull enough power to drive them, so I think I might
build a more powerful amp to drive the bass-speaker and use the Hiraga for the
tweeter ( it's a two-way system). Using a electronic crossover naturally.
Hints are most welcome.
