Guidelines for Posting to Rec.Audio.High-End Rec.Audio.High-End is the newsgroup devoted to serious discussions of High End Audio; it is bidirectionally gatewayed to the Internet mailing list Info-High-Audio. Rec.Audio.High-End is intended to serve those who pursue audio as more than just a passing interest. Any number of subjects might be discussed on R.A.H-E, what type of regulator works best, high-end equipment reviews, discussions about recording techniques or recording reviews. Since this is a serious forum and not rec.humor, I'd like to keep the discussions serious. This is also not alt.flame; please try to limit posting temperatures to luke-warm. Some subjects are more appropriate for rec.audio --- these include: "What's the best $195 speaker?" "Where can I get XXXX headphones?" "Distilled snake oil can never work!" I don't like rejecting postings. I really don't. I REALLY REALLY don't. I might, though, for a few reasons: your spelling and grammar are so bad even I can't decipher your post; there are so many factual errors even I know you don't know what you're talking about; or the subject is more appropriate for rec.audio or rec.humor. Please send your posting through a spell checker before you send it, so others don't think you're an idiot. You may also want to include some kind of signature file, as the inews on this machine is determined to strip off and otherwise mangle as many headers as it can. The address for submission, if you want to mail it, is info-high-audio@csd4.csd.uwm.edu There is an archive available, but only by anonymous FTP. Don't ask me to mail you a lot of back issues, because I won't. If you want one, maybe two, send me mail and we'll discuss it. If you want it all, send me a nine-track quarter-inch tape (reel, NOT cartridge!) that'll do 6250 bpi and I'll tar it off for you. The FTP archive is in the directory "high-audio" and is compressed. "uncompress" is available from comp.sources archives. These are only guidelines; I'd like some feedback on them. The net community voted me as moderator; part of that "job" is the responsibility is to give you the kind of newsgroup you voted for. Send comments directly to me. - Tom -- Thomas Krueger UW-Milwaukee Engineering Electronics Shop tjk@csd4.csd.uwm.edu "A Veteran Of The Psychic Wars" Moderator, Rec.Audio.High-End +1 (414) 229-5172
