Can anyone offer tips on how to proceed to replace the interconnect cable on a Rega Planar III? The table in question is a Rega Planar III with the Rega-installed arm. The signal cabling (specifically, the interconnect from the table to the preamp) looks pretty cheap and I expect that a better interconnect would improve the piece's sound. Problem is, the interconnect disappears up into the arm somehow and does not look easily replaceable. The cable passes through a tube secured by a very wide, thin nut to the bottom of the base, and no connections are immediately visible through the aperture. Anyone have experience with this table? What can I expect to find when I take the table apart? How much trouble can I get into in trying to reassemble everything? Is realignment a problem? (Needless to say, this is the first time I've tried anything like this.) Dennis O'Neill denio@seismo.css.gov
