I'm intending to build my own apogee look-alike speaker this summer after
returning home. I've got most of the material needed already, but I'd like
to see if somebody has already built some and what his or her experiences
were while building them. I've got a building description out of the Danish
magazine called "High-Fidelity" (The best magazine there is on HiFi !).
I'd like to know what kind of foils can be used for the speaker and how to
improve the efficiency of the speaker-system. I worry a little bit if my
Hiraga Classe A (20 W.) power-amp will be able to pull the speakers to a
reasonable sound-level.
Also I'd like to change my pre-amp (Grundig) to a better quality one. So I'm
looking for circuits of good pre-amps, preferably tube. There are plenty of
tubes around here in Cairo.
