With all this talk about speakers, in particular <$1000, I would like all to know that I have a speaker system For Sale. The system consists of: A pair of Dahlquist DQ10A's - the latest model with the good tweeter, Ivory grill cloth. The imaging qualities rival (and often exceed) many contemporary models, the dispersion and rock solid image allows an extremely large sweet spot - one can sit, stand, dance, move left and right and everything remains in place. They need a solid 100W/ch or more solid-state amp or a 75w/ch vacuum tube amp (al la A.R. D-76A). Accessories include the standard Dahlquist stands. The crossover is the Dahlquist DQLP-1 electronic crossover. It has variable crossover frequency (I used 55 Hz), subwoofer output level control, and subwoofer 20 Hz equalization control. The subwoofers are RH Labs SB-1's. They are a down-firing 12 inch driver in a Hemholtz resonator type enclosure, approximately 20" x 40" x 18" made of walnut. They are very efficient and require approximately 50 - 75w/ch (I used solid state here for high damping factor). These babies will go down to 16 Hz without any trouble. They are very satisfing viserally. All manuals and spare parts (the crossover has some caps and resistors) are included.
