[rec.audio.high-end] Subwoofers, and Carver Mod

Subwoofers:
There was an interesting article in Audio recently (last 4 months) that was
a project where the writer built a subwoofer using JBL PA bass cones. You
could certainly use the enclosure he designed (plans were in the article)
along with JBL's 2200 series of subwoofer cones. The levels you wish to
achieve (I assume you meant C weight) can certianly be hit by these great
drivers. I use them in my work, and they are great.

Carver Mod:
For those of you suffering with the silly binding posts on the back of the
pre-TFM or PM series amplifiers, there is hope! The new posts from the TFM-25
or TFM-45 will fit, with only redrilling the center screw hole. The part can
be ordered from Carver (1-800-433-0547) Part # 115-30007-00 for $9.34. This
allows you to use a real connector (such as an Exterminator or other high
class bannana) rather than bare end/small post.
