I was reminded by the "A Test of Tuners" article that I've been wanting to ask about the Carver TX-11 (now up to the 'b' model) for a long time. I'm looking for first-hand experiences, preferably. How good/bad does it sound with the psychoacoustic processing stuff switched out? What does that stuff do when it's switched in, and is it ever useful? Does the AM section (stereo, even!) sound good? And (maybe the thing I care about most) how is the sensitivity and quieting on the beast? I'm apartment-bound, and I've got my eye on some weak stations I want to listen to; antennae I've tried so far don't help enough. When I do get to put up a real antenna, the DX in my blood will keep me going, too :-) Email or comments here are fine; thanks in advance.
